Abstract
The solid and hematologic cancers are occasionally accompanied by peripheral blocs
eosinophilia and suggested tumor necrosis or wide dissemination, but the mechanisms
underlying this curious relationship remain obscure.
The association of this eosinophilic leukemoid reaction with carcinomas seems to occur
most frequently with bronchogenic carcinoma.
Several mechanisms for this association were considered; eosinophil chemotactic factor,
eosinopoietic hormone, eosinphilia mediated by T-lymphocyte indirectly and some
possibility of co-existing parasitic infestation or drug allergy.
We here reported a case of poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of lung
accompanied with marked peripheral eosinophilia in a 60-year old male patient.
